HOW DOES THE FEEDING PROGRAM OPERATE?
The Feeding Program operates in two separate villages in Zimbabwe – the Nhema Village (Zaka District, Masvingo Province) and the Makokwe Village (Gwanda District, Matabeleland Province). Groceries are delivered on a monthly basis to the children by local contacts in their communities. In total 25 children are supported monthly through our program.
WHAT DOES ZANELE MEAN?
Zanele is an Ndebele word, which, when roughly translated means “enough is enough”. The name originates from the founder, Saneliso Moyo’s frustration with feeling a sense of helplessness in terms of her ability to aid in the plight of orphans of AIDS and its related diseases. She came to a point of complete frustration that pushed her to action. The statistics, reports, and reality of these children became more than enough for her to handle and she was pushed to act. Through this experience the Zanele was birthed and will continue to flourish. So long as there are orphans of aids there will be enough to call her, and her colleagues to action.
